Our Range of Lubricants and Essentials

Here's what each type does and when it's the one to reach for.

Water-based and aloe lubricants

The everyday choice and most of what's stocked here. Water-based formulas rinse off with warm water and don't stain fabric, and they're the usual pick with silicone toys because silicone lube can degrade silicone. Aloe versions keep the ingredient list short, which helps if you react easily to fragrance or flavour. Water-based lube dries out sooner than silicone does, so a splash of water or a quick top-up brings it back.

Silicone lubricants

Silicone lube stays slick far longer on skin and doesn't need topping up as often, which suits longer sessions and play in the shower or bath. Keep it away from silicone toys, since it can break the surface down over time. It takes soap and water to wash off properly.

Creams, balms and sex oil

Thicker and slower than a lube, made for massage and for play where you want something that stays put. Oils and some balms aren't for use with latex condoms, and they don't suit every toy material, so check the bottle before you mix them with anything. If you're unsure, water-based is the safe answer.

Condoms

Lubricant FAQs

The questions that come up most before a first order.

Is lubricant safe to go inside?

Water-based lubricant is the cautious default for internal use.

It's the gentlest option on this page and the one that rinses away most easily. Look for a short ingredient list, and skip anything heavily fragranced, flavoured or warming if you know you're prone to irritation. Oils and balms are better kept external, and they can weaken latex condoms.

Stop if anything stings, burns or itches, and rinse with warm water. This isn't medical advice, so if discomfort carries on or you've had a sensitivity before, check with a doctor.

Is lubricant good for females?

There's no health claim to make here, so the useful answer is about comfort and ingredients.

Dryness happens for all sorts of ordinary reasons: where you are in your cycle, medication, stress, breastfeeding, menopause. Lube takes the friction out of it so sex and solo play feel better, and it makes toys far more comfortable to use.

  • Water-based suits most people and works with silicone toys.
  • Fewer ingredients generally means less to react to, which is why the aloe formulas are worth a look.
  • Wash toys before first use and after every use, then dry them fully.

If dryness is new, painful or persistent, that's worth raising with a doctor. Nothing here is a treatment.

What lubricant can I use with silicone toys?

Water-based, every time.

Silicone lube can bond with the surface of a silicone toy and leave it tacky or pitted, and once that happens there's no fixing it. Water-based lube leaves the surface intact and washes off you and the toy with warm water and a mild unscented soap.

Oil-based products are worth avoiding on toys too, unless the bottle says otherwise. If you're not certain what a toy is made of, water-based is the answer that can't go wrong.
