Everything stocked here is water-based, and it comes down to two formulas.
Water-based glides for women
An everyday lubricant for comfort during sex or solo play, and the one to reach for when a toy is involved. Dryness has plenty of ordinary causes, from where you are in your cycle to medication, stress, breastfeeding or menopause, and lube takes the friction out of it. There's no health claim being made here.
- Rinses off you and the toy with warm water.
- Use it with silicone toys, since silicone lube can degrade silicone.
- Doesn't stain sheets or fabric.
- Dries out sooner than silicone does, so a splash of water brings it back.
pjur says all of its personal lubes are Class IIb medical devices and are safe to use with latex condoms. That's the brand's own claim about its formulas.
Vegan water-based formulas
The same water base, made without animal-derived ingredients. It's the pick if the rest of your bathroom shelf is already vegan, or if you want a plainer ingredient list to scan. These sit alongside the women's glides on this page and they're used in exactly the same way.

What is pjur used for?
For glide, on your own or with someone else.
A lubricant sits between skin and skin, or skin and silicone, so there's less friction and things stay comfortable for longer. That covers sex, solo play and anything where a toy is involved. pjur's own range goes wider than lubricant into intimate care and cleansing, and what's stocked at Heather's is the lubricant side of it.
Is pjur a lubricant?
Yes, and it's what the brand is known for.
pjur has been in the industry for over 30 years and produces in Germany. On its own site the brand describes itself as a certified manufacturer of medical devices under the EN ISO/ISO 13485 standard, and says all of its personal lubes are Class IIb medical devices that are safe to use with latex condoms. That's pjur's claim about its own formulas. Nothing here is medical advice.
Can I use pjur with toys?
The water-based bottles on this page are the right pick for silicone toys.
Water-based lubricant leaves a silicone surface intact. Silicone lube can bond with that surface and leave it tacky or pitted, and once it does there's no fixing it. Check the bottle for what a formula is compatible with, and when you're not certain what a toy is made of, water-based is the answer that can't go wrong. Wash the toy before first use and after every use, then dry it fully.
